When I say, 'autumn is November' I mean this categorically, of course. I'm sorry about not posting in October, I have been under multiple wires. I don't even like October. It's warm (in my part of the world) and weird and I didn't want to make a crappy mix like last time. This mix is as close to that feeling you get when the air turns crisp and you then you shiver for the first time all year. Listen to this mix on your way to no where in particular and imagine your self collecting sugar maple sap. I added 'Alice's Restaurant,' because no November ought to go by with out listening to this song. Below is the drinking game that Colin and I devised to go along with 'Alice's Restaurant.'
Be Good Tokyo Police Club
Holland, 1945 Neutral Milk Hotel
Femme Fatale The Velvet Underground & Nico
Emily Kane Art Brut
Good Friday Coco Rosie
Melody Day Caribou
The Day I Was A Horse The Vaselines
Poughkeepsie Devendra Banhart
Cocaine Blues Uncle Tupelo
Lucinda Tom Waits
The Ballad Of Ira Hayes Johnny Cash
The soda Hell on Wheels
Sand Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood
Alice's Restaurant Massacree Arlo Guthrie
Alice's Restaurant's drinking game:
Drink 1 when Arlo says:
Thanksgiving
Kid
Sir
Officer or Obie
Littering
Kill
Sargent
"Mean nasty"
Sing along to:
27, 8 by 10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one [explaining what each one was.]
(if you fail to 'sing' along with this part you will have to drink 2)
You ought to be drunk by the time the chorus comes around on the guitar. So sing loud and smile at you neighbor, because you got drunk at Alice's Restaurant.
